This page contains information related to our current GCSE Home Economics Child Development specification available in Wales. A new GCSE in Health and Social Care, and Childcare is being introduced in Wales from September 2019. This new GCSE forms part of the suite of qualifications being developed for the health and social care and childcare sectors in Wales by the City & Guilds/WJEC consortium. Details of the qualification can be found on the consortium website.
The final award for our current GCSE Home Economics Child Development is summer 2020, with re-sit opportunities in 2021 (if required).
In England the specification was awarded for the final time in 2018.
